Every so often I take on small projects pro bono for people I know to help them out. On one occasion a friend asked me if I could help his friend who was down on her luck and struggling to attract customers. I took 12 hours of my time and developed a new website for her business. When she saw the design, she literally gasped. It was beautiful (her expression, not the design) and made me realize that some people just need a break. I know web design doesn’t change the world, but sometimes, it changes your perspective. Every so often I see her in town and we share a smile. I am certain she has done something similar for someone else since. Just a thought.
