I started blogging in 2000. At one point I had over 300 people a day reading my opinion on my favourite sports teams every day. Not the world’s biggest blog, but large enough for the time. In 2004 blogging became main stream and everyone tried to jump in the game – around the same time I stopped writing. If you’re starting a business today, blogging may not be the best option for your needs. Don’t just start a blog because every else is doing it – make sure you want to write, you have a story to tell, and you are committed to blogging for the long haul. A good blog requires a ton of work, excellent writing skills, patience and a unique perspective. If you don’t offer these things, perhaps try using Twitter first. Just a thought.
